"I - yi!" and "Bye!"

Sarah's verbal skills have been surprising us with smiles. Two of her favorite words are Hi and Bye. However, the greetings are never spoken, but yelled with volume. She loves to tell people, cars, and pretty much anything hi or bye. Both automatically come with an energetic wave that includes her whole arm. No princess hand wave here.

When we were in Duluth last week, we were sitting in a parking lot waiting while John checked his e-mail. Sarah was in the back seat with Elizabeth and was shouting greetings at anything she saw moving. Whether or not the greeting is returned does not matter, she is just happy greeting the world.

If you look at the title of this entry you will see that I have attempted to spell her version of hi. With Sarah it is a two syllable word that does not include an 'h', with extra emphasis on the 'i'. I'm not sure how long this version will last, so if you happen to see us, don't forget to say hi and maybe you'll get to hear it yourself!
