After failing to post for two months, I could not pass today up without saying something.
Two years ago today our world changed.
From the moment we held this little girl layered in a pink outfit she stared at us with great reserve and little emotion. We spent the next week earning our first smiles and giggles. The next year and a half earning her trust for sleeping alone in her own room. The promise that we wouldn't leave overnight took time to prove. Praise God we don't have to sleep in her room on the floor anymore!
Earning her trust is still something we do every day, and I'm not sure when or if we may have it completely.
However, Sarah is now a female of emotion.
She is strong-willed.
She is feisty.
She is determined.
She is independent.
She is a character.
She is a blessing I could not have imagined.
Thank you God for the way you have demonstrated your love for us through the life of this little girl to me.
Happy Gotcha Day!

Wow! I can't believe it's been two years already. Happy Gotcha Day!!
Happy Gotcha Day! What a difference two years makes! She certainly has that Heckel girl thing going on!
Hi,
My college friend Diana showed me this blog. Your Sarah is adorable! We just got our Sarah about 8 months ago. She is a lot of what you say and it looks like they might be the same age.
Blessings to your family.
