We have made it an annual experience since Elizabeth was born to find and cut our Christmas tree.Today we headed out in the cold (temps were in the teens, without the wind chill) for the big event. The sun was nice and bright however, a big improvement on the snowstorm we went in last year.
So with all of us bundled against the cold we headed out with Sonya for our search. We have found some pretty awesome trees over the years.
Elizabeth can be credited with this years find. It also gets an award for the widest tree we have ever had.

As you can see it was as tall as Elizabeth when it was laying on its side after John cut it. I would say it is over 5 feet wide standing up.
One of the fun parts of this tree farm are the sleds we get to use to bring the trees back. The girls made use of them before we had to load the trees up, enjoying the several inches of new snow we got yesterday.
I'm not sure every ornament we own will cover this tree! I am sure we will be more conscious of the width in the future.

What fun... Your tree is lovely! Great selection!
We have a couple of "fake" trees up, but Danny and I have talked about going to a tree farm next year.
Oh, and I am so envious of your beautiful snow!! We did have some flurries this year, but I'm pretty sure it'll be we get for the rest of winter. That's what you get for living in eastern NC.

What a wonderful tradition.
We just got our first snow today. Not nearly as much as you guys.
Now you have an excuse to buy or make more ornaments.
Love the pictures of the bundled family by the way.

So good to hear from you! I love reading your blog. Your girls are all so beautiful! I love watching Sarah grow! I am with Jen- where is our snow in Tennessee!? We got excited when Lily got to see snow flurries last week! So sad...But, I am glad someone gets to enjoy it.
