Rachel's summer

Rachel was a busy little girl this summer with multiple activities going on.

She was able to officially begin piano lessons after a feeble attempt from Mom over last school year. There was also the reading program at the local library, soccer, and swimming lessons on her schedule.

Soccer was Rachel's first attempt at organized sport. She didn't hate it, but wasn't absolutely in love with it either.

We tried swimming lessons at a new location this year. Our lesson time ended up fairly late in the evening, so she was really tired by the end. Overall, she gained some significant confidence in the water.

A highlight of our summer is the camping trip over the 4th. This year Rachel was the one to learn how to ride a dirt bike. She enjoyed being like one of the big kids. Can you see her pink sparkle sunglasses?

On that same note, we went to Valleyfair in August and Rachel is now tall enough to ride the adult rides. She started on the Corkscrew and rode the Wild Thing among others. She loved it! Now John has two riding buddies to join him, since I can't even handle the merry-go-round anymore.

That is a short synopsis of Rachel's summer. Most of all she loves to play with her sisters and friends. My emotional one (Oh, the drama.), constantly hungry (Can I have a pickle? One?), and she loves to watch television.

She is a little motherer, who loves to love and take care of those smaller than her. Whenever one of us leaves we are sure to get two or three hugs and waves from the front door as we go. She has a very sweet soul.

We are so blessed to be a part of her life!
