Adventure of Love

Elizabeth's ballet performed their annual show last weekend on Saturday and Sunday. It was a busy week of practices, performance, and helping with staging. They did a beautiful job showing glory to God through dance and theatre. The main character was Jonathon (he is about 7 or 8) and his questions led to great thought and laughter when it comes to growing in faith and love.

Elizabeth and Micki had a great time with their second show (they are dressed as flowers in the photo) and we look forward to watching them grow in their talents as well. We are all learning about the work that will take. Rachel is chomping at the bit to join them.

With the big ballet show over, we are looking forward to the continued slow down of activity this spring. Rachel's awards ceremony for Awana was last week, so that is now over as well. Sarah's shots were also last week and went very well. She never even broke a fever. All of her test's have returned normal as well.

It seems we still have a great deal going on though. John and Elizabeth are in training for the 30 mile MS ride they are going to do with my sister Sonya on the 10th. Unfortunately the weather has not been very cooperative for training with cool temperatures, rain and windy days.

Through all of this activity Sarah has been finding her place, growing, sleeping, eating, and making us laugh. We have great praise for how well she has been sleeping. At the most she wakes 1 or 2 times, and that is rare now. We are learning how much she can get into. This last week she has discovered the kitchen cabinets and the fun things they hold. She has developed a modified crawl, but much prefers to scoot on her rear as she is faster that way. Yesterday she figured out how to stand up from sitting in the middle of a room. She is very proud of this and will just stand there smiling afterward, and then sit to repeat the process.

The scary part is that she started climbing up the stairs and will try to get over the side of the tub to get in on her own. Today she stood up on her own while in the high chair! Sarah is daring in a physical way I don't remember this much with the other two. To say she has bloomed is an understatement, I think she's exploding.

One of the things that encourages me is that she has started to wake up from nap just happy and playing in her crib. She is not screaming or crying. Even in the morning its more of a wake up call where she will call out in her own way 'I'm up! Come get me!"

We are so blessed to have had the opportunity to see this little girl open up from all seriousness to the happy laughing girl we have now. I am so blessed and thankful in so many ways. Last Saturday was the month anniversary of our return home. It seems so long yet so short.

So glad that everything is going so well! Elizabeth and her friend look beautiful!!! It sounds like you have an active climber like Miss Ruby. I also never remember Ainsley being like that! Today is our one year anniversary of leaving for China to bring Ruby home!!! The year has gone so fast!
Blessings,
