Time to catch up

I'm getting the calendar out to help me fill in the blanks on some of the things that have happened in the last two weeks. I had no intention of taking such a long break, but have had a hard time finding a good opportunity to do this. It did not help that I left my camera behind last weekend at a gathering with Rachel's important birthday photos on it.

So we will start with the birthday. It was a busy week with appointments and ballet practices. We spent Friday evening of the 18th at my sister's with some cousins who live in the Twin Cities. It was a family birthday party celebrating Rachel, Sam and Logan's birthdays. It was also a chance for many of them to meet Sarah. She did very well with the group and warmed up after a while to explore. As you can see, she made her way to Heather and stole her cup to play with.

The memory of the night that stands out is a comment Rachel made to Jay. For those of you who may or may not know my cousin, he likes to pick on the girls by convincing them that something they know is wrong. Examples include circles are squares, blue is red, water is milk, etc. So after Rachel had spent a period of time trying to convince Jay he had something backwards, she made the statement that "Jay you just don't know anything!" The whole room heard it and burst out laughing, and she was mortified. The comment was appropriate for all the convincing he had been doing, but it took some convincing to calm her down. It may become her comeback to him in the future, we'll see.
